Core Technology & Working Principle
Working principle: during rotation, the outer ribbon pushes material from the wall toward the center while the inner ribbon returns it from the center to the wall. The counter-current flow drives continuous turnover and radial transfer, achieving homogeneous mixing across the full 0.5–15 m³ tank range. Explosion-proof configurations available upon request.

Technical FAQ
What powders can the PRM ribbon mixer handle?
It is designed for free-flowing to cohesive dry powders and for blending liquid or paste additives into powder. For ultra-high-viscosity masses above ~1,000,000 cps, our PMX vacuum planetary mixer is the better fit — the ribbon mixer is not intended for that range.
How long does one batch take?
Typical dry-powder blending completes in 3–8 minutes thanks to counter-current convection. Adding liquids or high filler loads extends the cycle; spray-bar dosing keeps it uniform.
Carbon steel or stainless steel — which to choose?
Use stainless steel (SS304 / SS316L) for food, pharmaceutical, pigment and corrosive duty; carbon steel is cost-effective for general building materials and non-reactive powders. Both are customizable.
How does the double-ribbon convection work?
The outer ribbon pushes material from the wall toward the center while the inner ribbon returns it from the center to the wall. This opposite-direction flow creates continuous turnover and radial transfer, eliminating dead zones.
Can I add liquid or essence during mixing?
Yes. Optional spray bars inject liquid uniformly. For duties needing up to 20% spray addition with intensive dispersion, the PYZL twin-shaft plough mixer is recommended.
What is the lead time and warranty?
Standard PRM models deliver in 30-45 days from confirmed drawings. Every unit carries a 3-year global warranty — double the common 1-year industry standard.
How much does a PRM ribbon mixer cost?
Price depends on tank size (0.5-15 m³), material (carbon steel vs SS304/SS316L) and options such as spray bars or discharge type. Send your material and target capacity to our engineers for a configured quote — most standard units are quoted within 24 hours.
How do I choose the right ribbon mixer capacity?
Size to your batch weight and bulk density: working volume is about 60% of tank volume, so a 2 m³ tank gives roughly 1.2 m³ of usable mix. Size up if you add liquids or run frequent product changeovers.
Is the PRM ribbon mixer CE and ISO certified?
Yes. POLYC builds to ISO 9001 quality management with CE marking for the EU market; material and electrical options are documented per order. Request the certificate package together with your inquiry.
