PHM Triple-roller mill is mainly used in paint, printing ink, pigment, plastic, etc., especially mill and disperse products with high viscosity and small granularity. Due to mutual squeezing of three horizontal alloy bowls and friction with different velocity, great milling effect can be realized. The Triple-roller mill adopts sprocket driven, the gear is immerged into lubricant, so service life of the machine is maximum prolonged, noise and energy consumption is reduced. The Triple-roller mill’s bowl adopts wear-resistant alloy steel, has a longer life.
The PHM Series Hydraulic Triple Roller Mill is a high-precision wet grinding and dispersing machine engineered for high-viscosity pastes, heavy slurries, and shear-sensitive formulations. Controlled by a dedicated double-impeller hydraulic pump system, all critical machine operations — including feeding gap positioning, hydraulic roller clamping (6.3 MPa), and discharge scraper adjustment — are automated for repeatable particle refinement down to 1 to 5 μm.
Precision Grinding Mechanism: The mill consists of three horizontally aligned chilled alloy cast iron rollers driven at differential rotational speeds ($V_{\text{front}} > V_{\text{mid}} > V_{\text{rear}}$). The middle roller is fixed on the heavy cast frame, while the front and rear rollers slide horizontally under hydraulic control. Material charged between the rear and middle rollers is subjected to intense hydraulic squeezing and shear, transferred across the high-speed front roller, and detached by the precision scraper knife into receiving collection containers.
To complement our high-speed dispersers, immersion basket mills, and horizontal bead mills, POLYC engineers the PHM series with internal rotary water-cooling passages inside all three rollers to prevent thermal degradation of active resins and pigments.
