The PZM series Hydraulic Immersion Basket Mill is an all-in-one wet grinding and dispersion system engineered for flexible multi-color batch production, pilot plant trials, and full-scale commercial manufacturing (50 to 3,000 L/day). By combining high-speed pre-dispersion and sub-micron bead milling within a single vessel, it eliminates the need for auxiliary feeding pumps, connecting hoses, valves, and external pipe manifolds — reducing material residue to near zero and cutting batch changeover times by over 60%.
Self-Recirculating High-Shear Immersion Dynamics
During operation, the upper vortex suction impeller draws raw slurry and agglomerated powders downward into the double-walled grinding basket. Inside the chamber, high-wear-resistant ceramic grinding pins energize high-density 95% purity zirconia ceramic beads, generating intense collision and shear forces to achieve homogeneous sub-micron particle distribution. The dispersed slurry discharges through the bottom dynamic separation screen, where a lower Cowles dispersing disc propels the material outward to maintain full-tank circulation across viscosities up to 8,000 cps.

- Safety Position Interlock System: Tank clamping arm is fitted with proximity safety sensors — if the mobile mixing vessel is not locked securely in position, the basket drive cannot engage.
- Double-Walled Cooling Basket & Tank: Dual jacketed circulation around both the grinding basket and the mobile vessel dissipates mechanical heat rapidly, ensuring tight thermal regulation.
- 5-Minute Fast Color Changeover: The electro-hydraulic lift column elevates the basket assembly out of the vessel, allowing rapid washdowns in an auxiliary solvent bucket with minimal downtime.
