A movable mixing tank is a stainless steel vessel on wheels that docks under a disperser, basket mill or mixer. Instead of cleaning one fixed tank between every batch, you give each color or product its own tank and move the next one into place. For paint, ink and putty producers that change formulas often, this is the simplest way to cut cleaning time and keep products from contaminating each other.
This guide explains the two main tank types, the sizes we quote, which machines they work with, and what drives the price, so you can specify the right tanks before you ask for a quote.

| Tank Type | Sizes | Typical Use | Works With | Price Tier |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Single-layer movable tank | 400L listed; other sizes on request | Room-temperature dispersion and mixing of paint, ink and putty | High speed dispersers, mixers | Entry |
| Jacketed movable tank | 300L, 500L, 1000L; other sizes on request | Heat-sensitive materials and grinding with a basket mill | Basket mills, concentric and butterfly mixers | Mid-range |
The jacket connects to cooling water. If you need heating, tell us and we will confirm the design.
| Tank Volume | Size (Ø × Height, mm) |
|---|---|
| 300L | Ø800 × 800 |
| 500L | Ø900 × 900 |
| 1000L | Ø1100 × 1100 |
These are the sizes we build for our PZM basket mills. Other machines and custom sizes are available on request.
Give each color or product its own tank. When one batch is done, move the tank out and bring the next one in. You clean tanks away from the machine, not between every batch on the production floor.
Grinding and high-speed dispersion add heat. If your material is sensitive to temperature, choose a jacketed tank and connect it to cooling water.
Thick material can be mixed in a mobile tank under a concentric or butterfly mixer, then pressed out with a hydraulic press-out machine. See our hydraulic discharge press guide.
Smaller tanks can be pushed on wheels. Larger tanks are easier to lift and place with a forklift. Tell us how your floor is laid out and we will configure the base.
A movable tank docks under a machine with a hydraulic lifting column. The column raises the shaft or basket, the tank rolls in, and the machine lowers into it. On our basket mills, a clamp holds the tank in place during operation.

The tanks we build for PZM basket mills are SS304 with a mirror-polished finish, which wipes clean easily between products. Other stainless grades can be discussed on request.
A sloped bottom lets material run toward the outlet, so discharge is easier and less product is left in the tank.
Tanks can be built with polyurethane heavy-duty wheels so a loaded tank can be moved by hand on a flat floor.
Slots at the base let a forklift lift and place the tank, which suits larger sizes and longer moves.
POLYC designs, machines, assembles and tests its equipment in a 9,000 m² factory in Wuxi, so the tank and the machine it docks with come from the same manufacturer.
